Operational Risk Manager

We are looking for an Operational Risk Manager in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. You will be the primary contact for the Financial Market Authority (FMA) and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Working closely with the Risk team in Zug, Switzerland, the role entails maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Business Continuity Management Framework as well as our internal Risk Champion community. Key responsibilities include management of our inventory of Risks, Controls and their assessments and effectiveness, for which you leverage on the Risk Champions. You manage our Operational Risk events database. Furthermore you ensure timely regulatory reporting to local authorities, and maintaining a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape.

You will have the following responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance our Enterprise Risk Management Framework including the Risk Appetite Framework
  • Manage the inventory of Risks and Controls. Leverage on the community of Risk champions in the 1st LoD for operational risk management activities (e.g. risk and control self-assessment)
  • Manage and further educate our internal community of Risk Champions
  • Establish a Risk Culture across the whole company
  • Develop and roll out a Control testing methodology and plan
  • Carry out independent assessments of Risks and the effectiveness of Controls
  • Manage Operational Risk events, ensuring that issues are identified and addressed, while providing transparency to the senior management (“Incident & Issue Management”)
  • Support the Business Continuity Management of the company
  • Maintain and update Risk policies and instructions
  • Develop, improve and document Risk processes that fall in your area of responsibility

What you bring along

  • Degree in Economics, Risk, Finance, or related field
  • At least three years of experience in an operational Risk Management role within the financial industry in Liechtenstein
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and well-organized personality, entrepreneurial can-do attitude, and highest level of integrity
  • Good knowledge of Liechtenstein’s financial regulations, especially TVTG/MiCA
  • Ability of dealing with multiple challenging assignments in parallel with highest attention to details
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadline
  • Fluent in English and German; other languages are a plus
